I can't imagine that they wouldn't take care of that. It is apparent that they see the value of good customer service. Joan got my heart the day she cut a piece out of a chocolate cake that had been ordered for a private luncheon the next day. My little girl had her heart set on a piece of chocolate cake one night and we just ran in to pick up dessert to go. She told her that no one would miss a piece of that cake and since her heart was set on it she wasn't going to disappoint her! Now THAT's taking care of a customer!

She is always giving me loafs of bread to take home and it is good too! (I would rather have cake, but don't need it)

Sorry folks, but if everyday talk about MOnets is not an advertisement,I don't know what is. Maybe thats why you get freebies ? talk & menu items, help & etc. They couldn't afford this much advertising in the papers.

Wendy's has an 88 also for a Health Department score this month. Their prior score was 91, so it's been sliding. Looking at the certificate, it looked like they got dinged for repeating mistakes caught on the prior evalutation. I'm guessing they'll be hunkering down to try to raise the score for the next one.

Also, I can't seem to find the Health Department certificate for the Chinese place, "No. 1", that's in the Bi-Lo shopping center. They've historically scored very low compared to other area restaurants, so I would be dubious about eating there until the certificate is placed in a more prominent place (and they corrected whatever causes them to score low).

My DIL asked to see No# 1 report a while back & all of a sudden she didn't understand english too well & couldn't seem to find it. We should make it a habit to find out what the ratings in each place we go into & post it here.

Sweet Sue, we did do that for a while in a different topic. I think we should do that here. I guess if the owner comes on and talks about his/her place, that is advertising. If we who eat at the place talks, it is just about the restaurant topic.

Coosa, I don't see that at all as what Jim was talking about with Schmooze. Joan & Dave don't come on here & tell how much dinners are & what hours they are open, the cost of them. If they did, it should be in the CLASSIFIED section of the forum. People do read them. I didn't see a problem with the "ad", but I'm letting a lot go by the wayside for me.

The certificate for the no. 1 was more hidden than it used to be. You have to go almost to the bathrooms & look at it now on the wall close to the register. It was 76. I don't know how they can still be open.

These numbers reflect and do make me reconsider places... Im honest..

Then theres violations that I could let go.. light fixtures... God forbid the inspectors come here cause they get cleaned maybe once a year... if I can think of it..

Hair nets should be a requirement. Thats been some major issues with us and the local restrs. It literally turns my tummy - even if it were to be my own.. If I can deal and cope with something tho at my home, its just as good I reckon elsewhere as far as light fixtures tho.

I've always been one that will check out the cleanliness of the bathroom. If that's not clean, then it's most likely not to be too clean in the kitchen.

I agree about the ad part, Maddy. And 76 is a terrible score.

I wonder just what is the lowest score a resaurant can have and stay open? It must be lower than 76!

Okay I'm new to this what is a bad score, what is a good score, what is an average decent score?

I'll be more aware if I knew what I was talking about.

100 is the best! It's sorta like your grading system in school. I don't eat in a place that has a lower than 86 score. I don't like it when it's in the 80's, but will be very cautious if it is in the 80's.

Cherry, it is a health dept. rating of a resturant. Is supposed to be viewable for anyone to see. and is supposed to be fixed or cleaned up before next inspection. tehy come in & check different things, ice machine is one of the dirtiest things in a resturant. it collects slime. Then you are rated by how many violations you have. If you don't see it , you should ask to. That should help to keep them on their feet.

Yes, Doc. you do now.
Health inspections are required to be visible to the patron. If they aren't, they are in violation as well.

For comparison, here is a list of counties in NorthWest Georgia that have their restaurant scores posted.

http://www.nwgahealth.com/hmall%5Cfood.htm
Click on the county name for a listing of the restaurants and their scores.

You'll notice that most hover around the 90-93 mark.

I come on to this subject to answer
questions about the restaurant business
and to say what is going on!
I am in the business, and most all of my advertising is word of mouth
I also say what is going on with me at my place of business..
A restaurant!
that is why I visit the topic
I can delete the Blairsville website from my computer and
go on with my life just the same!
Let me know!
no hard feelings,
done it b4!

Well last night it was slow and while I like not waiting in line, I hate that they close up early when they are slow! Gary has had fish 2 nights in a row, I wonder what he will get tonight?

I really feel sorry for waitresses and the way they are treated sometimes. I was with a person last night who told the waitress he was not coming back to the restaurant again because they took a certain steak off the menu. Also, not to even bother bringing the fries out unless they were very hot, cause he would send them back.
That is not the way to treat people. Now, I know why I get hugs from the girls when they wait on me.
