Piano man.. I dont. Theyve griped about the TYPE of punishment to the point that it looks more obvious that it is a personal vandetta. Theyve said lil about WHEN and WHERE and WHO with the punishment,,.... they just want him out.. thats the way I see it anyways.

DOC, l saw the Channel 2 news this morning, if you have a chance, look at the interviews and see how WSB slanted the news without saying a word.

As for me l think this incident has embarrassed Union County and school official and the damage is irreparable. At this point in time the principals resignation is the only answer. As l stated in a prior post, once the media gets this it will never stop snowballing and the principals authority has been so undermined that he will no longer be effective.

I read the poles. I re read the articles. I also saw the front page storys and realized.. Theres bigger, worse news today then that old story. I also saw that there are worse people out there that are true criminals... that are actually physically engaging in true crime.

SC, Did I miss something you were meaning for me to see? I didnt watch the news this morning. I have been in bed sick. Sorry.

This is what I did find but then again, it is old news.

Let's see......a Paraprofessional is arrested for molesting a 10 year old child, and a gym teacher is letting kids pay him cash in order to skip gym class......I know I am MUCH more concerned about a principal emailing his buddies this email on school time (which had to take all of 2 minutes to get the email, look at it, read it, LAUGH, and FW to the guys). Now, if the email had been of underage students, that would be a different story, but it was obviously consenting adults.

I keep telling myself I am finished and not going to even visit the UCHS Principal Forum again, but I just cannot help to see what people are still saying! :)

Hey DoC,
I did the same thing to see if it would count, and it does! I think I am going to vote all afternoon and see how long it takes to get the poles even.

I saw the segment two or three times on Channel 2 this morning, but I'm afraid I didn't see or hear the slant you are talking about. They interviewed both sides, and if anything it seemed a little anti-Rohrbaugh. Are you saying they slanted it in the pro-Rohrbaugh direction?

In response to those who are saying that there is no evidence that this has happened before, I would say that there is evidence:
1. The cover page for the pictures says, “it is large breast appreciation week - once again”. Why would he say “once again” if it had never happened before? In fact if this was only the second time he would probably say ‘again’. To say “once again” implies it might have happened more than once. Without question it implies that it has happened before.
2. To send this e-mail to these 5 teachers the sender must have been confident that they would appreciate the pictures. This does not necessarily say e-mails have been sent, but it does say that if not e-mails then at the very least this subject had been discussed between them before. The principal knew it would not offend them, causing a problem for him.

Others imply that this incident is accidental and should just be forgotten and everyone get on with their lives. Let’s just forgive and forget.

How did this happen? Was it just an accident?
It is possible that this whole e-mail thing is nothing and being blown way out of proportion.
Perhaps the Principal and five of the schools teachers were involved in a study of natural science or biology. The pictures were sent for analysis.

Or, one of my favorite lines from the movie A Time To Kill is when the lawyer’s friend meets Sandra Bullock and says, “ you’ve got to love a God who would create something like that.” (she was fully clothed). With that in mind it is possible that the Principal was sending these pictures to the 5 teachers so that they might share a religious experience together.

Call me cynical but I feel certain these were sent for another purpose. The principal saw them, thought they were “sexy” and sent them for his friends to enjoy as well. If these were sent from home you could say there was a separation keeping their lust away from their work. Being sent at school is encouraging the teachers to think lustfully at work. There is no separation, there is no professionalism.

Do you want the young women of Union County going to school were teachers and the principal are looking at them and at pictures of nude young women at the same time? Are you not afraid of where their minds are? On the other hand do you want the young men of Union County going to school where teachers and the principal are walking the halls lusting over young women? Could they possibly teach them to respect women and to practice self discipline over their own emotions/desires?

The best lesson we could teach the students of Union County is that throughout life they can be happy, confident, and live “at peace with God and man”, if they live principled lives with integrity and character. Can the principal and these teachers do that? The parents of children in Union County schools have every right to be anxious about who is teaching their children and what is being taught (along with schoolwork).

Is this the type of person the county wants to give the responsibility of caring for most of the county’s young women and men 7 hours a day 5 days a week?

"In response to those who are saying that there is no evidence that this has happened before, I would say that there is evidence"

Well, that would have been me saying that. But I'm far from naive. With any kind of behavior it's rare that it is the first time, and if you wanted me to bet money, I'd put my money on it being at least an occasional if not regular practice.

But our justice system doesn't run on speculation about people having maybe, probably, likely done stuff before.

And since people are treating this like a crime, maybe we should reference the law.

I understand your points, and agree with some of them. I also respect your integrity. But the bottom line is, I just don't feel the man should lose his job over it.

That's all I'll say, as I don't feel like arguing this any more. Besides, the board made it's decision. If enough people are unhappy about it they can speak at the voting booth during the next election.

I have said lots of times on here and in general... if you aren't happy with something then do something to try to change it. In reference to the board... vote them off. I am not going to lose any sleep over what the principal did...it may have not been the wisest choice he has made in his professional career but I do not feel he needs to be fired over his lack of good judgement. To make a comment as ridiculous as they may be looking at the girls at school in an inappropriate way is way off base. That would be slander or libel as far as I am concerned. That would mean that every girl who wore a skimpy outfit or a cheerleader would be in jeopardy of indecent thoughts by faculty members. That is outrageous and I am offended that someone would even suggest that about anyone at our school system. That would be like saying that if a teacher watched a movie that involved drugs he/she would want to go to the local drug dealer and get high. This whole thing is being blown out of proportion...it should be over and done with. We have more important things going on in our county that all this attention needs to be focused on. If you don't like it here ....Delta is ready when you are. And from those that I have seen crucifying the principal... I'll help you pack up cause I am ready for you to get the heck out of Blairsville. By the way, I heard over the weekend that not another news station is even interested in this "Big Story."Go to Top of Page

Foody.. Well said and I agree to the fullest that its to the point of.. stupid now and yes.. I also heard that the other news stations was NOT interested is WHY it wasnt ran but were contacted so I reckon those who are offended that the other news stations didnt find it.. appauling will black list those stations and start up polls and whatever..lol Im sorry but its to the point that its almost funny now.
In a sad way of course of funny that they have neglected all that is going on in the county that NEEDS attention.. Do you who are raising hell to meet the surface of this realize how many children are needing extra help at school to insure that their knowledge is enough to pass CRCT's? Just when we think that the school has heavy loaded itself and the students with work work work... now theres more more more for them to do?

Do you realize that there are several kids within the schools who have actual needs other than to be informed on how the community are being sooo... as a friends daughter who is a Junior put it.. immature and who do they go to when they need to talk about their problems and will this group tell that group and will it be broadcasted even tho its a decision unrelated to emails at all...

Have yuns worried about anything other than this matter? Like whats for supper and how the church sang so beautiful yesterday..
Have yuns consider that a certain guy who is with the anti Mr. R. showed pornos when he was in school to all of his friends and they havent forgotten it either??? SURE NUFF... is he mad cause he didnt send the porn out first? Its rediculous!

DOC,and who would that be? Must be a local since all his school friends are here to tell about it. That is odd since I thought all the anti Mr. R. people were suppossed to be out of towners. Are you judging this person for showing porn to his friends when he was a kid? If it actually happened, and if he got caught, I bet he got in serious trouble.

And yes the singing was wonderful at Church on Sunday, and I never forget to worry about what's for supper!

Agreed, Food4. I've seen it picked up as a "News of the Weird" topic for news stations across the nation (which I suppose is how Mr. Blogosphere ran across it), but I've not seen any interest in it beyond that.

DoC, this is relevant in reminding that certain guy that everyone has made choices that may not have been the best in retrospect, but I can't really stand behind taking someone to task (or holding them up as an example of hypocrisy) for events that transpired before the age of adulthood. Many rebel against parents and other authority figures by taking up things that they know are contrary to their teachings. Once childhood is shed and their own independence established (around that 21 age), they can easily return back to the values they were brought up with.

Food for Thought, your premise of "Delta is ready when you are" is a kind of a dragonian thought. Based on the last demographics printout that l recieved, more are coming in than going out. Within 2 years the outsiders will outnumber the locals by 2 to 1 and you know how elections are. l guess we should try to get along and be neighborly because the times"they are a changin"

DOC,
I assume you mean Sonny and Cher? I do not sing and am not affiliated with them. I have no affiliates whatsoever.

As for the news coverage: at least 19 news channels carried the story:

SC, just because we dont agree on this does NOT mean we cant enjoy one another as friends. Momma always said that if everyone had the same opinions... well PC could finish that or probably heard it as much me? I dont know.lol LET ME NOTE THAT HER NAME IS NOT BEING USED FOR OR AGAINST THE PRINCIPAL just in reference to what momma says.

I like Justin.. Ive met him briefly in person and I know he can be more than... Hes a good kid and yeah to me he is cause I am older than he is.lol He has a different charisma than what shows in the editoral or paper world.. I just know that one day.. he can do some wonderful things with what Gods given to him and I hope he keeps seeking until he finds that.. No harm just lots of opinions and I respect yuns.. just dont agree with this.

I think what's most telling about the links you provided is at the bottom of each: "Distributed by Internet Broadcasting Systems, Inc." IBS builds the Web site article and the survey and makes it easy for affiliates to link to (complete with local station graphics and references) as filler material that piques that "News of the Weird" interest.

Thanks though. You helped me realize that the same "Do you think...?" survey is being clicked on by folks outside of Georgia.

Gila,
To clarify something, the email was not created by Mr. Rohrbaugh, nor was the title of the Forward, "It is Large Breast Appreciation Week--Once Again" created by him. In other words, this was not a follow-up email to a previously sent email, titled "It is Breast Appreciation Week."

I can also assure you there are many, and I mean MANY teachers in the high school and other schools who do their best to teach children to live their lives with good character and integrity.

Also, you gave several scenarios in which the principal could have sent this email, so please don't assume it was because he was sitting at his computer drooling over these "sexy" pictures. How do you know he didn't laugh and hit FW? I know when I've gotten those Chippendale (or similar) emails or birthday wishes, laughed and harmlessly shared them for someone else to get a laugh.

And one more thing for the road.... it is also said that the average male, age 15 - 50 (that includes many students), thinks about sex every 8 seconds. Let's think about that.....if it's true, it's over 3,000 times per school day. (Yes, I know that number sounds astounding!) Guys don't need emails, pictures, or magazines to "encourage" intimate thoughts! I have heard more crude, vulgar remarks and conversations come from our high school students (boys AND girls) than I would ever imagine could come from adults! Just a thought.......

Okay, so it is time for a new topic........I KNOW ONE........
How about, "THE PERSON WHO SENT THE EMAIL TO MR. ROHRBAUGH." What do you think!!!??? Let's bash them for a while!!!

I think I agree!

BTW...what about the recipients of the email??...were they all school employees??...which one or ones turned him in??

Just Curious

Okay, there's an idea.....Let's bash the recipients as well, because you KNOW they asked for the email! So, they must be perverted pedophiles as well! I bet they are all involved in a "Ring Of Porn" email group and they do this all day long, while they stare at the girls (and boys, too)!

Now, being serious again....yes they were employees. And it was not one of them who complained, but someone who saw the email, but did not receive it first hand.
