Maddy, Lake Arrowhead is close to Canton. it has a private lake for residents ony that is 700+ acres, and the prices look reasonable
also.

We built a home in Cartersville next to Carters Lake.. thats the one I was thinking of.. its got the beauty of up here but tucked with in minutes of Big City living.. Awesome! Doc, I thought Carter's Lake was just outside of Ellijay, and Allatoona was close to Cartersville. Am I wrong. ?

Doc, Mangos are wonderful, but the last two seasons there have been none because of the hurricanes.

Rouge let me know what you find out, I've been looking at lake homes and have been having a hard time finding a cute town where you can afford a nice lake house.I've found gorgeous homes in yucky neighborhoods though. Driving through Sapphire, NC, that place is cute! Cherry Blossom

Ome... Well Im backwards here and may be.. No we didnt have land, my husband is a builder and we built a house on the lake down there for some good folk.. I just tried to call his cell cause I member seeing Carters Lake but heck, maybe we passed it to get to Cartersville cause thats where we had to pull the permits and how I knew that the Big City werent far... Cherry, Look up Acworth Georgia online, seems like a nice place, and the prices are very reasonable. I need a lake near me so I can fish and boat. But i need shopping also.

My first cousin lives in Acworth. It used to the country and now it is so very much built up and populated. You'll probably like it there Rouge. Have you thought about the Dawsonville area? They have Lake Lanier and its a straight shot down 400 to Atlanta. My reality check bounced |

puddin, i have a friend that lives near gainsville, He says it is so busy that it's hard to go fishing on Lanier because of all of the boaters and jet-skis. Is that right?

Thanks puddin. I am going to keep searching til I find everything I need in Georgia. I need shopping, restaurants, fishing, not too crowded, friendly people, (guys)... All in georgia. I am hoping to come up in June and look around again. I want to find a place that I will stay forever. I guess I am being picky, but that's my goal. I have been to your area, Hayesville, Murphy, Blairsville, Blue Ridge,and Ellijay, and so far I like where my niece lives in the Woodstock, Canton, and Acworth area. If you all can help I would appreciate it. I have about two more years of working, but I want to find a place now.

An open message.. now that the small strip office building( where Thomas Insurance is located) is being renovated and expanded, what gives with the old blue building next to it. Does anyone know ,if anything ,is to be done with this eyesore? Surely, l am not the only person who wishes this gone. A few hours with the proper equipment would be an improvement--then maybe build a specialty shopping strip.This is a good location for small shops, services etc. Just hoping.Social Change |
