Golden Gate is under new owners. Wonder if that's any good.

No I did not notice it, but next time we're on this side we will try the Golden Gate.

We like the chinese better in Murphy so far, but I can't wait to try Asiano's.

Cherry,

The Chinese in Murphy IS good, though nothing to look at. Since I'm a stick-in-the-mud, I tend to order either Sesame Chicken or Lemon Chicken at Chinese restaurants.

Happy Garden in Murphy has better Sesame Chicken.

Asiano's in Hiawassee has better Lemon Chicken.

(Asiano's also has great sauteed Green Beans which I adore, more choices of cuisine - Chinese-Thai-Japanese-Sushi, and looks WAY nicer inside.) ;)

Yum.

Oh, and I should put in a good word for Asiano's sushi. My business partner ALWAYS orders their Sushi Dinner.

However, he always requests "No Squid" because their Squid is a bit tough. So, they ususally give him extra Tuna. Everything else in the Sushi Dinner is top notch!

We've also eaten in their Japanese chop-em-up room. That was good too, but I'm more addicted to Lemon Chicken.

Doc. The California roll is good. I don't like the eel. It has a strong taste. i like the milder fish like tuna or snapper. If you don't like it raw, try the tempura fried dishes.

Its easy to drop 60 bucks for the meal but thats not bad for a family of 6. My kids love sushi.. and its good for them. The price does keep us as a family from goin.. specially being UBB does not like sushi and gets that other stuff they make.. not chinese and not sushi but,,, what is that stuff, it escapes my thinking process right now, lol!

UBB and I must be alike eatin wise. I don't like seafood either or greens or carrots or lots of stuff.

I really like Asiano though, we've been three times and always make a reservation for the back habachi place and I eat steak and chicken. I love that ginger dressing on the salad too.

Yes...Asiano's definitely has calamari. It reminds me of P.F. Chang's type of calamari, having a strong black pepper emphasis. But good!

Really don't care for any kind of raw meat.

Had a friend (in another lifetime) who ate some beef tartar. It was not prepared correctly and his joints got infected by a virus from the tartar and he was/is a cripple after that. Only takes once. However, that can be said for any imporperly prepared food.
