Needed a fresh start on this too. I love shopping in town! It makes me feel like I'm putting back into the community. I sure with the Square would wake up & dazzle us with some shopping flair!!!

I agree about the square. I notice decorations on Nelly's old building. Looks nice!

I just can't see why someone would buy a nicely renovated building & leave it locked up.

I was wondering that myself. Is it a tax right off for someone? O well. I really think Nelly had the greatest use of the place with her shop. I just wished Id went in there before the closing sales.

Puddin, I noticed on my way home last nite that the Dollar General on the 4 lane was lit up and cars there... Do you know if or when ours out here will be open?

I didn't know that there was a Dollar General on the 4 lane. The only one that I know about is the one on Murphy highway on the hill next to Mountain View funeral home. Where exactly is the one on the 4 lane?

I use to buy my favorite cookies there and they were just a dollar. They are still my favorite, but I quit eating them.

On our way back to town Sunday night, we saw the Family Dollar up on the hill on 515 & my husband looked at me & said, "where'd that come from"?!

We went to the 8 0clock shopping stores last night. No one was there. We went to Jenny Rebecca's and she really has a lot of stuff. Gary bought me a present. Then we went to the Birdyard feed store and had some cider and looked for a long time. Gary bought me another present. Then we got gas and bought a present to eat at KFC.

I think I'm going to the big city shopping tonight. There's an uneven amount of presents from Santa going on here. He needs to even it up.

Isn't that the truth. We used to try to buy from local families when we could. Roger that does upholstery on Murphy Highway, the lumber shop out towards Young Harris, Sears in town because he's local, OReilly's because those guys (Ricky) have always been so nice to us from day one. The meat shop out Gainesville highway - those are some seriously nice people! They let you know you are appreciated and the meat is fantastic - not to mention I dig their home made slim jims! haha

It's nice to see the local kids having jobs at the grocery stores, but it's also nice to go down to the little fruit stands and pick up a fresh head of lettuce, potatoes or whatever...

It does make you feel good to give back to someone you know that needs it or more important appreciates it! Seems the fruit and vegetables taste fresher and better too!

Happy Holidays people - probably my last post on here before next year. Gotta get back to work. Mike

happy Holidays Mike! Yes Warne is right on the ga/nc line. You can go to Young Harris and turn left at the blinking light and follow to the end of the road, or go the way I like, in the country. I got out gum log, turn left at smyrna, then right at pine log and finally right on old highway 64. It is a nice ride and passes by Wildwood, where my husband is finishing a home we sold. I actually buy the beer in Ga., but I check my mail in N.C.

Coosa...you don't have to take Smyrna, Pine Log, etc...
The Towns County end of Gum Log comes out near Warne.

That is true, but my husband is building off of Smyrna. We used to own 10 acres out on Pinelog and I love going that way and looking at all the mountains. I noticed a new jewelry store that opened in the shopping center at dominoes pizza!

Yep, it got made because some people like Wildflower have a hard time loading 60+ pages to read.
I've got some friend shopping left to do & I'll do that up at Mountain Crossings. Gotta give my support, ya know!
