AS some of the old time posters will remember, I wrote a post outlining what I think should be done to up grade the football program at UNHS. I was met with some negative reaction and scoffing. So, I can pat myself on my well deserving back.

I stated the field should be rebuilt with an adequate playing surface. NOW DONE. I suggested better stands NOW DONE. I suggested better lights with additional lumens, NOW DONE. You have to have a first class image if you are going to play first class football.

When I moved here in 2005, I was appalled at the field conditions and where the team had to play.It is so refreshing to read the comments from the new school superintendent about athletics.

There will be a new hurdle that has to be addressed very soon. I will write on this as soon as iI can verify my facts.

UCT, read my other post about season tickets and cost in Bremen, Ga.

I heartily support season tickets only within a prime area, say 40 yard line to 40 yard line. Other season tickets could be price adjusted to meet location. Yes, there should be single tickets for walk ins, but the heart of a program is season tickets.

That being said, should be some spaces for students. NO student should ever have to pay a dime to get into a school event.

My feeling is that if you have to charge students to pay for athletic activities, then you should not have the activities. The county should pay all athletic cost.

You cannot have a top of the heap program unless the school is willing to pay the price. Just look at the highly successful programs in the nation.
