It seems that just a few months ago we had 2 county votes on alcohol sales, 1 winner and 1 loser. i am sure we all remember the hue and cry against beer and wine and it will cause Union County to go straight to hell and the area would be full of drunks and drunk drivers. Well, we now have alcohol, a new package store and gambling and I see no major changes in the county.Next, Wal Mart was a bone of contention, I'll never shop there some were wont to say. Bet they do, Wal Mart is here to stay and the world did not come to an end. Next, we have to work on zoning, littering, noise and animal control and lest I say it, a commission type of goverment in lieu of the sole commissioner type.Nothing against Lamar, just that form is inefficient, does not give citizens and input and violates the one man, one vote doctrine. Time will tell, but the above will come to fruition within 5 years because it is the right thing to do. Shucks |

Fawn, it is next to the "gambling hall"--I think it is called the Wine Cellar or Closet. Should open this week.Shucks |
