Boy Scout troop 416 from Murfreesboro, TN got an unexpected start to a scouting event when their bus tumbled over the side of the mountain road on 19/219 south of Blairsville after a vehicle stopped suddenly in front of it.
Out of the 11 Scouts and 5 adults, four were transported to Union General and treated. The most serious injury was a concussion to a 14 year old Scout. The troop talked about what to do after the accident and voted to continue on and complete the event. All except Nathan Carothers, who had to go home to recuperate from his concussion. The troop is expected to complete their hike on Saturday.
