I hope this is correct forum for this.

I noted the column by Norman Cooper in this weeks NGN news the article that polished Speaker Ralston's halo was amiss in one point. Was ethics in government mentioned? Did not Mr Ralston accept a free trip for his family to Europe to "study high speed railroad transportation" at a reported gift cost of $17,000 dollars. Do we really need a 300 MPH railroad to go to Chattanooga or Macon? It will be a cold day in the domicile of beelzebub(sic) before this ever comes to fruition. What did the Speaker learn? Trains run on tracks and it takes $17,000 of gift money to see them.

While we are at it, let us say kudos to the Governor for being able to re structure his millions in debt. Wonder how many Union county citizens can pull that of. How about Mr. Graves and his reported financial wheeling and dealing. Ain't America grand!!!!

Let's not leave out our former governor who waited for just the right time to buy that prime land down in Houston county. Cost the state millions but the ex gov was able to purchase a few hubdred acres for himself.

Kudo's for the local Republican party for their coup in getting thee gentlemen elected.

Shucks you are to be commended for posting. Such wonderful people
on this forum and miss hearing from them. I think it was yesterday that was supposedly to be "Happiest" Day of Year but the politicans
are ruining my fun. I am furious at Ralston's poor judgement. Many of us budget and it will be interesting to see future benefits of the "lobbyist" who paid for the trip -- who and what was it?. I really want rapid transit but lets pay our current bills and fix budgets first. The mayor of Atlanta seems to be doing a good job. On the Governor choices - remember the primaries? Many people lost their candidate.
