Steve Keen, a multi-gen resident and master electrician, owner of Greater Light Solar in B'ville just completed a grid-tied/gen backup at my house....Havent yet seen a bill but from watching the meter go backwards i'm bettin i'll get checks from BRMEC...some fair amount of red tape as this was the first in Union county and TVA had to argue with BRMEC over who got the credit with the feds for MY power...BRMEC gives you 1000 bucks to do it and the feds allow a 30% tax credit for the whole system...call Steve and do it now, take control away from the goobermint |

Bryan, do you live in Ivy Log Estates or close by? There is someone up there with two wind turbines just a-blowing in the wind.

a year and a half after install i can tell you that my total electric expense with BRMEMC has been less than 1k...we used or others used the home a total of 2 1/2 months with everything running....as to how long to pay it off...if i average 3-4 hun per month without times 12 months i would have payed 36-48 hun...since it costs me over 20k to do, i'd say 5 years honest....BUT, i never lose power....if the goobermint decides to cap and tax, it wont effect me or if it does i'll go off grid totally....then there's the tax advantage i took which reduces the time to payoff by half....so IMO, 2-3yrs it'll pay itself off
