I'm looking at moving to the Blairsville area soon, does any one know of any homes for rent in the area? I haven't been able to find anything online at all. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

I would love to look at the newspaper, I wish the paper had a better website. I can't get a hold of one until I drive up there later this week.

And nelly, that probably was me!

Thanks Gray! That helps a ton! Is Unionsentinel the local paper or is there another one in Blairsville?

There are two.  One calls itself a newpaper (North Georgia News) and the Union Sentinel.  Both are small weekly papers.  I cannot say anything good about the NGN.  However it is the "Official Organ" for Union county.

Wait, I can say something good about it.  I've been told that it is a good fish wrap.  Also, if you have a chimney type charcoal starter (uses paper, not charcoal lighter), NGN works well there also.

To be fair, the editor of the North Georgia News packs a lot of information into each weekly edition. That information is generally provided by the community at large and only the the main articles and editorials are colored by the editor's preferences and views.

The real scoop is that only folks from out of town pay for it. Everyone else gets a newspaper delivery box for about $3 and it comes free every week after that. There's free issues available around town also - if you know where to look.

The Union County Sentinel is operating with only a skeleton crew right now, so its offerings can be spartan at times. But I still pay the $20 subscription fee as a vote in support of newspaper competition.

Luckily, you started on the Internet and found that "The place to go to be in the know" is Blairsville.com! Welcome.

Chris,
Can you be a little more specific in your rental requirements? BR/price/etc? If you give more details, it might help!

I just got in to Blairsville about an hour ago, so now we will have a lot more resources available. Town is very cute (at least what I could see in the dark). Thanks so much to everyone who has helped out.Go to Top of Page
