Around 80 squeezed into the Murphy Public Library to hear and participate in a public forum on how to handle future growth and development in Cherokee County. Perhaps not surprisingly, realtors and builders wanted less restrictions on their land development activities while others wanted more restrictions to help protect the landscape.
The forums are being held as part of a larger 7-county western North Carolina initiative called the Mountain Landscapes Initiative.
