SnowflakeFrost AdvisorySnowflake

Statement as of 3:22 PM EDT on April 29, 2008

... Frost advisory in effect from 1 am to 9 am EDT Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a frost advisory... which is in effect from 1 am to 9 am EDT Wednesday. The frost advisory is in effect generally along and north of a line from La Grange... to Macon... to Swainsboro.

Cool Canadian high pressure will settle into the region overnight. The combination of clear skies and calm winds will allow temperatures to drop into the mid 30s early Wednesday morning across north and most of central Georgia. These conditions will support the formation of patchy frost. Temperatures may drop to near freezing or possibly just below in valleys or sheltered locations... and in these areas widespread frost may form.

A frost advisory means that frost is expected to develop during the growing season. Those with agricultural interests are advised to harvest or protect tender vegetation. Also... potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought inside away from the cold.

I've never been one to cover all the trees or plants, but I do wish it well for all in need.  May the blooms bloom on!
