Halfnut, if this home is being built and not lived in yet there is a great possability that they DONT have a septic permit. I have been in many new, completly finished, homes in the area and have been told they dont have a CO yet because they dont have water or septic. seems backwards to me but this is how its done.

I didn't think you could get a building permit without the septic approval first.

I know we had to have a septic permit before we could get our building permit.

Or maybe how it used to be done. Maybe change can be a good thing after all - more regulation in the building process to prevent these very kinds of problems of happening any more?

Our house is just down Jones Creek from the house you are talking about and RW and I have wondered the same thing. Surely they had to pass a perk test before they built?

You MUST get a septic tank permit before you are even allowed to apply for a building permit.
25 years ago when we moved here, we did not have to get ANY permits at all.
