The topic in Chit Chat made me wonder about this. Do the students even get a break or recess once a day? a week? I think it is horrible that they were taken out of school for instruction time. When I went to UCHS, we had two breaks--one in the morning and one in the afternoons. My best memories are those I had in the halls at break. I loved going to school and looked forward to those breaks. I think the teachers who stood out "monitoring" us had as good a time as we did. A pity if today's young people don't get that thrill and fun. No wonder they don't want to go to school.

My son does not go to school in Union county. But I know he would never make it through the day with out a break. They get a 20-30 minute recess.
