Sammy "The Toothpick" Ensley will be the morning DJ at the new FM radio station in Young Harris. Wolf Creek Broadcasting Network is the owner of the new station. Sammy is the Wolf Creek program director and on air personality. He has just moved from the AM studio in McCaysville to the Young Harris studio where he will work, broadcasting and directing the programming of all four Wolf Creek stations.

Paper,

I was looking at your name "paprclip22mom", and I think you should start calling yourself "22 Paper Clips".

It has a certain ring to it.

I like it too Spam. I totally agree with ya!! LOL I'm not much of a country fan. No, I take that back. I'm not a country fan at all. Just never got into it. I like everything else though.
They've really got themselves all over the community too. I like that, too.

Yesterday, I was driving around trying to remember which number on the dial the new radio station is at. I knew it was 90-something, and that it had a "1" in there. No matter where I went on the dial, I just couldn't find it.

Anyway, I just drove over to Blairsville, and I saw a sign on the side of the road that said . . .

"95.1 THE BEST MIX IN THE STIX!"

So I tuned in.

The first thing I heard was . . .

"Congratulations! You found us!" Too funny.

The first song I heard was a Rolling Stones song I had never heard before, and it was great. Then, they played three songs in a row I also had never heard - two were rock n roll, one was country. All had great lyrics and I was loving the fact that they seemed to buck the Top-40 formula and go for more obscure songs in addition to the tried and true.

Then they played Tracey Chapman's "Fast Car", which I love.

As I was pulling into the garage, a guy with a smug tone in his voice said . . .

"Those big stations in Atlanta only have 200 songs in rotation, WE have 201."

Cracked me up.

All I can say is Wow, Wow, Wow! They are doing a great job. Evidently they're intelligent AND funny. Also, I had no idea my car radio could sound that good - the sound is so crisp and clear.

Good to see so many folks listening to local radio. Kudos to Toothpick for making this station stand out from the big city ones.

WildFlower, I think the station is located across from the power company in Young Harris. Next time you forget the channel just go there. LOL Glad you found it though and enjoyed.

That's funny, Paper,

I just saw where they were located.

I was driving very near the station when I was marveling at how much better the radio sounded!

Well, no wonder. Duh!
