IF their name is not in there.. then maybe there is another reason?
Wrongful arrest? Undercover agent? with the task force, ya just never know..

The troubles these guys in the paper under the CITY arrest, werent lil things.. so I still say, bad apples in every bunch! Im sure I am not the only one either who says that! Heck.. rely on your gut.. it will move you where you need to be.. and make your OWN choices.. let others make their own.. and remember, the grass roots that were planted here... long ago.. is what kept this lil town running when you was not here!

It seems like you are not aware of what "grassroots" means. "Grassroots" does not mean a group of only local native people.

It just means the citizens gather together to make something happen, instead of relying on powerful elites to orchestrate everything.

Keep in mind, the ones suggesting an outsider for Towns County ARE local people themselves. As I said previously, they either want to hand-pick an outsider and get them elected in a grassroots manner, or else find a local they trust and educate the newcomers on any local who is running, since they know their history.

There are people defending the owner on the Topix site because she is a church-goer and "God has forgiven her".

Thankfully, there is a guy with an actual working brain named "Old Timer", who has explained to her defenders the ramifications of "counterfeit" as to copyright laws, sweatshops, etc . . . and also pointed out that just because God forgives a person, does not mean that they are suddenly excused from society's laws and the consequences of breaking them.

Her defenders say that everyone knew the bags were fake, but in the video, it looks like the bags have tags that look like they are from Coach, Louis Vitton, etc . . . Seems like they were trying to pass them off as real. Some others say they know people who bought them, thinking they were real.

In other news . . .

The sensible guy and some other ones with brains are talking about starting a grassroots group to get someone new elected to Sheriff in Towns County. Sensible guy grew up here and now lives elsewhere. He is educated and pretty darn intelligent.

They want to bring in someone from the outside, or at the very least, educate the newcomers about any locals who might run, so the same bad people don't get voted in again.

As great as all this sounds, a couple of locals came on and said they would probably NOT vote for an outsider, in spite of the corruption that has been going on for years. They indicated they felt a lot of locals would feel that way.

So the ones with brains are now wondering if they are just wasting their time trying to start a grassroots effort to clean up the county.

I guess some people are more comfortable wallowing in the mud, than getting up and taking a shower.

There are bad apples per so many I suppose.. Towns Co. had some bad ones.. they will hopefully get the right ones who are there to protect and serve...

The crime ratio is UP but so is the number of folks who come here..

People get caught.. its good.. and not always because of who you know.. Not every cop is crooked.. and this is what I meant when I said, I feel sorry for Towns Co.. their trust has been broken.

I feel sorry for the next sheriff because they will be the county will take a long time before its back to trusting..

Local or non local.. got thrown in there.. thats where I got offended.. theres as many crooks moving in as there was before they did... thats what I meant! The arrest reports pretty much says that..

DoC, sometimes I can't decipher your posts, and I know that often you can't decipher my posts.

Here goes . . .

There are some locals who live in Towns County speaking to each other on the Topix site.

These locals are saying that they have lived here all their lives. They know which public officials can be be trusted, and which public officials can't be trusted.

These locals are naming names of current and past public officials and swapping stories about them.

These locals are saying that they would prefer to handpick an outsider with a spotless record to be the next sheriff.

These locals feel that most of the current and past public officials are too tied into the corruption that has existed here for a long time, so they can never break free.

These locals were talking about a luncheon that was held by other locals who feel the same way. They hosted an outsider at the lunch that they were trying to persuade to run in the next sheriff's election.

These locals want to start a grassroots effort to educate all the people of Towns County about candidates, instead of being silent about corruption like they were in the past. They want to band together to clean up the county.

These locals agreed with each other that there might be a few locals who could run for sheriff that were not tied into corruption, but that since it is such a small town, it is hard to find them.

These locals agreed with each other that at the very least, if they could not find an outsider with a spotless record that they would handpick, they should at least educate the newcomers about the locals who are running, so that no one corrupt gets elected again.

After all this discussion among locals, some other locals came on the site and said they probably would never vote for an outsider. They also said a lot of locals would feel the same way.

This caused the original locals having the discussion to feel very discouraged about cleaning up Towns County.

You see? It's amongst the locals, DoC.
