Besides being very upset about the knock-offs in Towns County, are y'all for real about this guy killing himself OUTSIDE his house? What? He didn't want to get blood on the floor of his house? Didn't want to make a mess? Sorry, but IF I was killing myself, I really wouldn't care what I messed up. Very strange. "You are the gatekeeper of your own mind, be receptive to those good thoughts" |

Alot of people kill themselves in the tub because they don't want to make a mess.....It really depends on their personality. If at first you don't succeed, do it the way your wife told you to. |

I missed Louies post.. but if someone captured it, I would be interested in reading it if someone would email it to me.. Jess is at Cochran Funeral Home in Hiawassee. :( My heart and prayers goes out to his wife, children and grandchildren. Regardless if they are good guys or bad guys, is the innocents in the families that suffer. He was a man with a wife and I am sure he had kid's and the stigma of the accusations and his suicide will be felt by his family long after he is buried. My prayers are for them tonight. "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant" |

This is sad.
Maddy, I knew a man who committed suicide in the hospital because he was an organ donor. He was the dad of one of my friends. An upstanding man of the county, pharmacist ect. We never know what's going through someone's mind, thoughts or the chemical illness that triggers this. It's never predictable.
No matter what the situation of this saga, these people are human beings and their families hurt just as we do. They cry tears too. My heart lies heavy when I hear of someone taking their own life because there is always a solution to the problem, but there is no convincing the person. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies. ~Mother Teresa~ |

It is very difficult to understand how events affect people and how they will react. Not knowing anyone of the 3, I am speaking as an outsider, not native to this area. Hindsight is real clear. I think Jesse may have been struggling with the guilt of the incident and the embarrassment it was causing his family. If he had of just gone to the DA or the GBI immediately after it happened instead of trying to live with it and cover it up, he may be alive today and his family may not have had to suffer.People suffering duress somtimes do not make rational decisions and the decisions they do make are totally out of character. As for as the other deputy that supposedly fired the shots, what makes him think he has the right to control his wife. She can do what she wants to. It may be morally wrong but that is her right. No man owns his wife and no woman has to be submissive to husband. If they were having domestic problems, then leave, get a divorce and each go on down the road. As crude as it may sound, there is always another wife and/or husband. Shucks

I've been reading the Topix forum and somebody from Jess Gibsons family posted that he was ate up with cancer and had this plus the situation with the investigation all on his mind. We will never know why he did what he did but we are not to judge.God makes the lightning Bikers make the thunder Light travels faster than sound. PCM, you are 100% correct. No one can know what is going on in someone's mind in that final moment they take their own life. A lifelong friend of mine did that and there will always be "why".

Hmmmm, let me throw a wrench into all this about Gibson. They have an audio tape and the GBI feel he committed suicide. With all the going on's about this case, how do we know that someone didn't give him a sheet of paper and make him read from it while they held a gun to his head and recorded it and then shot him to make it look like a suicide. Sounds like the perfect way to get away with murder to me. Make it look like a suicide!!Maybe I watch too many crime shows on TV, but I think it's very quick and easy to say it was a suicide! Where is the CSI Hiawassee when you need them, LOL!!

Regardless of how or why this has happened, a human life is gone and someone is grieving as a result. Please be sensitive in your choice of words out of respect for the ones left behind.

Honeybee, I got your handbag. No tan one for you! Instead, I got you a gold metallic one, covered in rhinestones. With a matching wallet. It's here waiting for you.
But don't blame me if the Feds spot you rather easily. Wildflower

Well, it's very sad indeed no matter what! I pray for the family and friends left behind. I agree with Eddie, this is a sensitive subject now that we're dealing with a persons death! I apologize if any of my posts sounded insensitive. We need to pray that the law enforcement involved (GBI) will handle things correctly and all this mess will get solved and done with!

I feel really bad for those families involved, specially those of the deputy that committed suicide. All this "what if" is not helping any one and may only to serve to make greeving people feel worse. To those who are suggesting about others, think what you may be contributing to distroying their reputation without proof. Even if they are found not to be true, these rumors will be what is remembered, not that they were false. Headlines are front page, retractions usually are on pager 4 or 5 or something. Well I guess that is why they put erasers on handgranads. why |

Obviously there are those who want to minimize whats going on. They want to steer around the fact that these three believed they could get away with it this time too. Only a complete clean-out of the Enotah cess will restore my own faith in system thats been broken for decades.I hope Gibson didn't die for nothing.

Thank you Wildflower. It will go great with my cut-off jeans, halter top and white cowboy boots. Hopefully, no one will notice."Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant" |

Well, this is interesting, someone on the Topix site by the name of "Wild_Flower", who is NOT me, posted this video about Designer Threads.http://www.wsbtv.com/video/13902249/index.html There are people defending the owner on the Topix site because she is a church-goer and "God has forgiven her". Thankfully, there is a guy with an actual working brain named "Old Timer", who has explained to her defenders the ramifications of "counterfeit" as to copyright laws, sweatshops, etc . . . and also pointed out that just because God forgives a person, does not mean that they are suddenly excused from society's laws and the consequences of breaking them. Her defenders say that everyone knew the bags were fake, but in the video, it looks like the bags have tags that look like they are from Coach, Louis Vitton, etc . . . Seems like they were trying to pass them off as real. Some others say they know people who bought them, thinking they were real. In other news . . . The sensible guy and some other ones with brains are talking about starting a grassroots group to get someone new elected to Sheriff in Towns County. Sensible guy grew up here and now lives elsewhere. He is educated and pretty darn intelligent. They want to bring in someone from the outside, or at the very least, educate the newcomers about any locals who might run, so the same bad people don't get voted in again. As great as all this sounds, a couple of locals came on and said they would probably NOT vote for an outsider, in spite of the corruption that has been going on for years. They indicated they felt a lot of locals would feel that way. So the ones with brains are now wondering if they are just wasting their time trying to start a grassroots effort to clean up the county. I guess some people are more comfortable wallowing in the mud, than getting up and taking a shower.

There is always bad apples it sad to say.. either locals or NOT FROM HERE ORIGINALLY..I looked at the arrest report today.. the city one, I dont know one dang name in there and can hardly pronounce them on top of that.. so why should we feel at ease any better with someone who is not from here running when it seems that theres AS MANY people not from here who are here doing corruptness as locals.. sounds like a bad apple per so many maybe? Either way.. Why shouldnt they start a NON GRASS ROOTS as well. ?? Anne Frank said, "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." I agree!
