Companies are ranked by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP based on five weighted variables: annual revenue, year-over-year revenue change, return on equity, annual change in profit margin in fiscal 2006 and total return on investment (share price change plus reinvested dividends) for calendar 2006.
United Community Banks, headquartered here in Blairsville, was ranked 36th.
