FRI DEC 22 2006

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
FLOODING POSSIBLE THROUGH TONIGHT ACROSS THE NORTHEAST
MOUNTAINS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE ENTIRE
REGION THIS AFTERNOON...AND ACROSS CENTRAL GEORGIA THROUGH THIS
EVENING.

.SYNOPSIS...
A STRONG COLD FRONT OVER THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL MOVE
EAST THROUGH TONIGHT...MOVING ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA
TONIGHT.

.PRIMARY HAZARDS...
THE PRIMARY HAZARD WILL BE HEAVY RAINS WHICH COULD PRODUCE
FLOODING ACROSS THE NORTHEAST MOUNTAINS...MAINLY DURING THE DAY
TODAY. ALSO...CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE
THUNDERSTORMS.

.DISCUSSION...
A STRONG STORM SYSTEM OVER THE SOUTHEAST HAS GOTTEN BETTER ORGANIZED
DURING THE NIGHTTIME HOURS. A STRONG LOW LEVEL JET WAS BRINGING
ABUNDANT MOISTURE OUT OF THE GULF OF MEXICO AND INTO THE
SOUTHEAST AHEAD OF A STRONG COLD FRONT. K INDEX VALUES WILL REMAIN
ABOVE 32 THROUGH MOST OF THE DAY INDICATING THE POTENTIAL FOR
HEAVY RAIN. WITH THE ADDED OROGRAPHIC LIFT OF THE NORTHEAST
MOUNTAINS...THE THREAT OF HEAVY RAIN IS MORE LIKELY IN THAT AREA AND
FOR THAT REASON A FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE NORTHEAST
GEORGIA MOUNTAINS THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.

THE MAIN ENERGY OF THE STORM SYSTEM WILL REMAIN ALONG THE GULF
COAST. THIS HAS RESULTED IN LOW CAPE VALUES AND LOW SURFACE BASED
LIFTED INDEX VALUES. HOWEVER ELEVATED LIFTED INDEX VALUES APPROACH
ZERO TODAY AND THIS COULD PRODUCE ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS...HOWEVER...ARE NOT EXPECTED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND SUNDAY
NIGHT. OTHERWISE HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED FOR THE
REMAINDER OF THE PERIOD.

Aren't we glad Santa has Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer, to guide his sleigh on Christmas Eve!?

I was wondering if Santa was going to need to get Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer's cousin Leroy, the Redneck Reindeer to help.
