Also, check the next topic for a radar scan of the area.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA
257 PM EST TUE NOV 14 2006

...SEVERE WEATHER AND HEAVY RAINFALL STILL POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

A POWERFUL STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY
ON WEDNESDAY. AS A RESULT...A DEEP LOW PRESSURE AREA AT THE SURFACE
WILL DEVELOP ACROSS ARKANSAS WEDNESDAY MORNING...THEN TRACK EASTWARD
INTO MIDDLE TENNESSEE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS
AHEAD OF THE LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL DRAW UP INCREASING AMOUNTS OF
LOW LEVEL MOISTURE ACROSS GEORGIA...CAUSING THE ATMOSPHERE TO BECOME
INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE. VERY STRONG WINDS ALOFT WILL ALSO BE PRESENT.
ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP COULD BECOME SEVERE...WITH DAMAGING
WINDS...HAIL AND EVEN ISOLATED TORNADOES POSSIBLE.

AT THIS TIME...THERE IS SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE STORM DEVELOPMENT
ACROSS MOST OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA ON WEDNESDAY...GENERALLY
ALONG AND SOUTH OF A CHATTANOOGA TO ELLIJAY TO CLEVELAND LINE...AND
MAINLY DURING THE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS. BECAUSE
INSTABILITIES WILL BE GREATER OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTH GEORGIA...THE
MOST LIKELY AREA FOR SEVERE STORMS CONTINUES TO BE GENERALLY SOUTH
AND WEST OF A CARROLLTON TO GRIFFIN TO EASTMAN LINE...AND AGAIN
DURING THE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS. THE THREAT FOR
SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO DIMINISH AFTER MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY.

IN ADDITION TO THE THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER...VERY HEAVY RAINFALL
MAY OCCUR ACROSS MUCH OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES
WILL BE POSSIBLE...WITH THE HIGHER AMOUNTS EXPECTED TO FALL
GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A COLUMBUS TO ATHENS LINE...AND
PARTICULARLY ACROSS NORTHEAST GEORGIA. MINOR FLOODING OF
CREEKS...STREAMS AND SMALLER RIVERS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE REMAINDER OF NORTH
AND CENTRAL GEORGIA. THE RAIN SHOULD END SOMETIME SHORTLY AFTER
DAYBREAK ON THURSDAY.
