RED FLAG WARNING
THU NOV 2 2006

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A RED
FLAG WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 12 PM TO 6 PM EST FRIDAY.
THE FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

A COLD DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD OVER THE SOUTHEAST STATES
AND SPREAD MUCH DRIER AIR OVER THE REGION THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
BY FRIDAY...TEMPERATURES WILL STABILIZE BUT VERY DRY AIR WILL
REMAIN IN PLACE. SEVERAL HOURS OF RELATIVE HUMIDITIES OF 25
PERCENT OR LESS ARE EXPECTED FRIDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS NORTH AND
CENTRAL GEORGIA.

DRY FUEL MOISTURE CONDITIONS WILL COMBINE WITH THE LOW RELATIVE
HUMIDITIES OF 20 TO 25 PERCENT AND WINDS OF 10 MPH TO CREATE
DANGEROUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING...OR WILL OCCUR WITHIN 24 TO 36 HOURS.

...FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY
MORNING...

BEHIND A STRONG COLD FRONT...A COLD DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD
OVER THE SOUTHEAST STATES TODAY AND FRIDAY. AS A RESULT...TEMPERATURES
ARE EXPECTED TO DIP BELOW THE FREEZING MARK FOR MUCH OF NORTH AND
CENTRAL GEORGIA EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. THE FREEZING TEMPERATURES
WILL BE GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A WEST POINT TO MACON TO
SWAINSBORO LINE...AND COULD PERSIST AS LONG AS 3 TO 5 HOURS ACROSS
NORTH GEORGIA...AND 2 TO 4 HOURS FURTHER SOUTH.
