WED NOV 1 2006

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING...NORTHWEST HALF.

.SYNOPSIS...
A COLD FRONT IN THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL MOVE TOWARD THE
AREA TODAY. A WEAK UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCE IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS WILL
INTENSIFY AND SPREAD NORTHEAST. THIS WILL AID IN MOVING THE COLD
FRONT TOWARD THE SOUTHEAST U.S. LATE TODAY AND TONIGHT.
MEANWHILE...A LARGE CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BUILD SOUTH
FROM THE CENTRAL PLAINS INTO THE SOUTHEAST U.S. BY THURSDAY.

.PRIMARY HAZARDS...
THE PRIMARY HAZARDS WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON WILL
BE OCCASIONAL CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING.

.DISCUSSION...
A WEAK DISTURBANCE IN A NEARLY ZONAL FLOW ACROSS THE SOUTHERN U.S.
WILL SPREAD NORTHEAST TODAY. AN ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT WILL QUICKLY
FOLLOW AS A LARGE CANADIAN SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM SPREADS FROM
THE CENTRAL PLAINS TOWARD THE SOUTHEAST U.S. INSTABILITY AND UPPER
DYNAMICS ARE NOT VERY FAVORABLE FOR THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT.
HOWEVER...AS SURFACE TEMPERATURES WARM INTO THE 70S AND DEWPOINTS
CREEP INTO THE MID AND UPPER 50S...LIFTED INDICES WILL DROP INTO THE
-1 TO -3 RANGE ACROSS NORTHERN ALABAMA LATE THIS AFTERNOON. THIS
AREA OF INSTABILITY WILL WEAKEN...BUT WILL MOVE INTO NORTHWEST
GEORGIA LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING BEFORE DIMINISHING.
ONLY ISOLATED NON-SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS...IF ANY...ARE EXPECTED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY
NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
