Topaz, I agree with everyone too. I would do some more asking and checking. This isn't right. I don't know anything about the laws either but I think he needs to contest this. I sure hope it works out for him and these charges come off. This could be on his record and he is innocent. Keep us informed ok?

Also, if he took the breath test and it came back negative, that is in his favor.

Your husband should appear before the judge and plead the ticket. The worst that could happen is that he will be fined and perhaps some points. BUT....The judge may throw the ticket out completely and, based on the little information we have, the officer might get a talking to also.

It is worth his time and effort. Have him collect his thoughts and write them down, if necessary. Just the facts. Let the judge then decide.

For the most part...MOST part...the cops are "pretty fair" with certain things. BUT what Topey is talking about is a case of someone (of authority) being a wee bit TOOO "authoritive"..in my opinion. I can't see or understand why this certain police officer acts the way he does toward adults or younger ones. He (the cop) is KNOWN for this in the county. Dont get me wrong. I like him. Hes a good man. But when you let an uniform and a gun and a badge override your common sense or even creditability there is a problem. Nor do I like someone to speak to me or others while in street clothes then turn around and act like they dont know me while "on duty"...

Topey, You and I both know this was nothing more than a setup or a way of him getting "some kind" of browning points in his favor. On the other hand. I would be afraid to walk in those shoes around here. Smile at a man in the face and then turn your back and the knife is already in place. I have no respect for someone like that. Regardless of who they are. What they stand for. And its becoming a known thing in Union County. I believe in keeping the laws but I also believe in having backbone enough to stand fair ground. This cop did not.

I agree Native. It's a power trip for some in any job. I wonder if he was the arresting officer in the high school party bust a couple of weeks ago. Hmmmmm, wonder why those names weren't in the paper...

A minor's name...IF they were under the age of 18 is legally not suppose to be in the paper. There are many arrests made of high schoolers but they cant be put in the paper. I will ask Lil Man if heknows if it was HIM or not. He will know if anyone does. LOL!
