Issued at: 10:29 PM EST 3/23/06, expires at: 11:30 PM EST 3/23/06

Snow advisory is cancelled.
The NWS in peachtree city has canceled the snow advisory.
The upper level storm system, which brought the light rain and snow to north georgia this evening, was moving much faster than earlier expected. As a result, the bulk of the precipitation associated with this system has moved northeast of the area into eastern tennessee, north carolina, and west virginia. In addition, temperatures in the snow areas have remained near or just above the freezing mark. Consequently, no accumulation of snow on the roads has been reported. Light accumulations of snow on grassy surfaces and exposed objects have been observed at elevations above 2500 feet this evening.
While light snow or snow flurries may continue in the northeast georgia mountains overnight, no significant accumulation of snow is expected. Thus, the snow advisory has been canceled.
Persons traveling through the higher elevations of northeast georgia tonight, mainly above 2500 feet, especially in union, towns, and fannin counties, should be alert for possible patches of slush or snow.
Stay tuned to noaa weather radio or commercial radio and television for the latest weather information.
