300 PM EST SUN MAR 19 2006

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.

* THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON

* A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER TEXAS WILL MOVE SLOWLY NORTHEAST
THROUGH TUESDAY. AREAS OF RAINFALL TONIGHT WILL BECOME MORE
WIDESPREAD AND HEAVIER ON MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT AS THE LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM PUSHES INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY BY TUESDAY
MORNING.

* SOME AREAS ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA COULD SEE RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OF TWO TO THREE INCHES MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT...WITH
SOME ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THIS AMOUNT OF RAINFALL
COULD CAUSE RIVERS...STREAMS AND CREEKS TO RISE TO LEVELS THAT
RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING. SOME MINOR FLOODING COULD ALSO OCCUR
IN URBAN LOCATIONS...ESPECIALLY NEAR CREEKS AND DRAINAGES THAT
ARE LOW LYING AND SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLOODING. THE MAIN THREAT OF
FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
TUESDAY...AND GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A WEST POINT TO
MILLEDGEVILLE LINE.

REMEMBER...A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR FLOODING ESPECIALLY ALONG LARGER RIVERS...STREAMS AND CREEKS. IF YOU ARE IN THE WATCH AREA...CHECK YOUR PREPAREDNESS REQUIREMENTS...ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE INTERESTS ALONG AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS. KEEP INFORMED...AND BE READY FOR ACTION IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR IF A FLOOD WARNING IS ISSUED.
