THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THIS EVENING THROUGH
TONIGHT ACROSS NORTH AND WEST GEORGIA.

.SYNOPSIS...
A LARGE SUBTROPICAL UPPER RIDGE STRETCHING ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN
UNITED STATES WILL BEGIN TO WEAKEN TODAY. MEANWHILE...A LARGE
UPPER LEVEL LOW AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT WILL PUSH ACROSS THE
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY TODAY...AND INTO THE STATE TONIGHT.

.PRIMARY HAZARDS...
THE PRIMARY HAZARDS FROM THIS FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL BE STRONG GUSTY
WINDS...SMALL HAIL...AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING. THE BEST AREAS FOR
THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT WILL BE NORTH AND WEST OF A LINE FROM
COLUMBUS TO ATHENS. HOWEVER...THUNDER CANNOT BE RULED OUT ACROSS
THE REST OF EAST AND CENTRAL GEORGIA. STORMS FROM THIS SYSTEM WILL
BEGIN PUSHING INTO NORTHWEST GEORGIA LATER THIS AFTERNOON...MOVING
SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE STATE OVERNIGHT.

.DISCUSSION...
A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP THROUGH NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA
THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. AN UPPER TROUGH WILL MOVE
FROM THE PLAINS TOWARD THE GREAT LAKES TODAY...WITH THE SOUTHERN
EDGE OF THE TROUGH EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS GEORGIA OVERNIGHT.
THUNDERSTORMS WITH ISOLATED SEVERE ACTIVITY MAY ACCOMPANY THIS
SYSTEM. HOWEVER...STRONG DYNAMICS WILL LIFT TO THE NORTH OF
GEORGIA...LIMITING THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL. ADDITIONALLY...SINCE
THE SYSTEM WILL CROSS THE STATE OVERNIGHT...INSTABILITY WILL BE
MARGINAL...WITH CAPES OF GENERALLY LESS THAN 500...AND LIFTED
INDICES OF ZERO TO MINUS 1.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY
THUNDERSTORMS MAY LINGER INTO TUESDAY MORNING...OTHERWISE NO
HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED.
