THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.

1105 AM EST SUN MAR 5 2006

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT
DANGEROUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED OVER PORTIONS OF NORTH
AND EAST GEORGIA THIS AFTERNOON.

.SYNOPSIS...
A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE EASTERN U.S. WILL WEAKEN TODAY AS
A WEAK LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT MOVE INTO THE
SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS AND NORTH GEORGIA BY MONDAY MORNING.

.PRIMARY HAZARDS...
THE PRIMARY HAZARD WILL BE DANGEROUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS OVER
THE AREA NORTH AND EAST OF ATLANTA DURING THE AFTERNOON.

.DISCUSSION...
A LACK OF RAINFALL THE PAST FEW DAYS ALONG WITH DRY WEATHER...
HAS ALLOWED FUEL MOISTURE TO DRY TO CRITICAL VALUES. LOW RELATIVE
HUMIDITIES OF 25 PERCENT OR LESS ARE EXPECTED FOR 4 HOURS OR MORE
THIS AFTERNOON OVER THE WARNING AREA. THIS WILL CREATE DANGEROUS
FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS THURSDAY NIGHT INTO
SATURDAY. OTHERWISE NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

The current Blairsville (2:00 PM) Relative Humidity (RH) is below 13%.

Typical humidity in the Sahara Desert is about 25%. Generally, a home humidity any lower than 30% driest out most people. Optimal comfort is usually between 40-55% humidity.

The Fire Hazard Watch is still on.

At 8:00 PM the RH at Blairsville was 84% and the Fire Hazard Watch had been cancelled.
